These 3 tips are all you need to host a successful get-together

Gearing up for summer get togethers?

Here are 3 tips for a successful event:

1. Pick a theme surrounding what you are passionate about.

Are you a traveler? Host a simple gathering where you serve dishes from your favorite places traveled, and invite those who are interested in learning more about your travels!

Love to speak a foreign language? Host a dinner where the rules are simple: no English allowed!

2. Keep it simple!

The best meals revolve around great company and conversation. Let the food be the vehicle to make that happen.

Are you a taco connoisseur? Make a DIY taco bar, and be sure to invite your most social (and taco-loving) friends!

3. What brings you around the table?

You can host more than dinner on Kitchen Table.

Invite your friends, neighbors, and new friends over for game night, a cooking or baking demo or workshop, yoga or meditation, book club, and so much more!

Whatever your community loves to gather together for, we're into it!

Are you interested in hosting, but need an extra boost of support?

Come to our free host workshop.

Here's what people are saying about their Kitchen Table experiences

Reviews have been pouring in and we can't help but share a few of our favorites!

"This app is so great for meeting new people -- way better than Tinder if you're single. But seriously, there is no better way to take a moment out of every day life and connect over food..." - DiscoMondays

"Restaurants are so 20th century, in comparison to the app that brings you into people's homes to learn, live, make friends, and more importantly -- eat."
- SustainKay

"I just posted my first event to this app and was so impressed with the user experience. I'm even more impressed and excited about the concept itself - the idea of bringing people together around food, the metaphor of the kitchen table, and the white space to customize each meal. Everyone should be using this app to host old friends, meet new ones and make and eat great food in the process."
- SeasonedCritic

CBD elixirs, salsa-making and salsa dancing make this Cinco de Mayo one you won't want to miss

Salsa your way through the week with Host Cara at her
Taco Tuesday on May 8!

Host and Holistic Health Coach, Cara from @caraskitchen, holds monthly plant-based dinners + Q&A with a special co-host about health, food, and beyond.

She's hit her stride in the Kitchen Table community by co-hosting with those in her field who she admires, and engages in face-to-face conversations over what she's passionate about while enjoying a great meal!

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Cara says, "You will not regret coming to my meal! It's like fusing dinner with your bestie in an intimate setting with all of the perks of dining out - great food and no dishes! And don't be afraid to come alone. Most of my guests arrive solo, and it's pretty likely they leave with a new friend!"

Join Cara and her vegan dietitian co-host, Katie, on Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30pm in DTLA. They'll be serving CBD elixirs, a multi-course organic taco dinner, performing a cooking demo, hosting a Q&A, and if all ends well: cap off the night of salsa-making with salsa dancing!

Diner Melissa Found Her Roommate At A Kitchen Table

True Story:
I Found My Roommate By Dining With Kitchen Table App!

Screen Shot 2018-04-18 at 2.58.25 PM.png

Meet Melissa, a regular diner on Kitchen Table App. She recently moved from New York City to LA for work, and has found that Kitchen Table App is her favorite way to meet new friends and make genuine connections.

Melissa's first Kitchen Table App was our Friendsgiving in November. She came to another, and another... and by the third Kitchen Table, she found her new roommate!

Melissa says: "I love that the app allows me to meet new people who have a strong interest in cooking and enjoying the social aspect that comes with cooking, prepping, and enjoying a meal. I've met so many great people and felt like I was surrounded by family at Kitchen Table events. The app creates a feeling of community--something which has helped me avoid feeling lonely in an otherwise spread out city."

True Story:
Hosting With Kitchen Table App Paid For My Trip Abroad!

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Kylie has a podcast and is one of our Kitchen Table App Hosts. She and her boyfriend really wanted to travel to South Korea to visit family and experience cherry blossom season.

She first attended the Kitchen Table Host Workshop (it's free!), learned how to host and price each meal, then hosted 6 Kitchen Tables at her place and saved enough money to fund her trip!

Kylie says: "After hosting at Kitchen Table's Foodies & Tastemaker Series, Omar and I knew that hosting was something we loved doing. I am so excited to say that I can use our love of bringing people together to fund my love of travel.
It's a win-win!"
